HopeAmazon holds signed PSA contracts — Pagamento por Serviços Ambientais, Brazil's environmental services law — with the owners of three forest properties in Ipixuna, Amazonas. Each contract carries an anti-deforestation clause that is in force today.
Your hectares are counted against those areas as a whole. There is no individual plot, no coordinates assigned to you, and nothing to resell. What you fund is the monitoring and the contract that keeps the forest standing.

Read
Sentinel-1 radar passes over the areas several times a month. We compose every pass into a single monthly reading, clipped by each property's SICAR polygon. Radar is not photography: it reads the structure of the canopy and it goes through cloud, which is why there is a reading every month, all year round.

Detect
Deforestation alerts from INPE DETER and heat anomalies from NASA FIRMS, filtered by the actual perimeter of each area — not by a bounding box, not by a radius from the centre point.

Record
Every reading is written to a database with its own identifier, the exact satellite scenes used, and the date. Nothing is overwritten. A report closed in August still says what the sources said in August.

Report
A monthly report in PDF, with the radar image of each area, the readings, the alerts, and how each number was measured. Produced and tested; it reaches the subscriber at the first close after subscribing.

This is not our measurement — it is the Brazilian government's. INPE publishes the alerts; we filtered them by the perimeter registered in the CAR.

Three properties, touching. One municipality.
The three areas share boundaries: measured against each other, Japurá meets both Lealdade and Nova Esperança at zero metres. They are one continuous body of forest, not three scattered parcels. All are in Ipixuna, in the state of Amazonas, on the upper Juruá river. The perimeters come from the CAR — Brazil's Rural Environmental Registry — in SIRGAS 2000, and they are the same polygons that clip the satellite reading each month.
