01Who you are contracting with
Your contract is with HopeAmazon Consultoria em Sustentabilidade S.A., a company incorporated in Brazil, with its seat in Porto Velho, State of Rondônia, Brazil, registered under CNPJ 35.234.992/0001-04 ("HopeAmazon", "we", "us"). HopeAmazon Consultoria em Sustentabilidade S.A. is the parent company, the party responsible for delivering the service, and the party you hold to these Terms.
These Terms apply to everyone who subscribes through www.hopeamazon.com. By completing a purchase you confirm that you have read them and that you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not subscribe.
Why your card statement says “AW Hope”
Payments are collected by AW Hope LLC, a company in the United States, acting on behalf of HopeAmazon Consultoria em Sustentabilidade S.A. as its payment processing entity.
This means the descriptor on your card statement, and on Stripe receipts, will read “AW Hope” rather than “HopeAmazon”. This is not a second company selling you something. It is the same service: AW Hope LLC processes the payment, HopeAmazon Consultoria em Sustentabilidade S.A. is your counterparty and owes you the service.
Every right in these Terms — cancellation, withdrawal, refunds, data protection — is owed to you by HopeAmazon Consultoria em Sustentabilidade S.A. and is unaffected by which name appears on the statement. You exercise them through the contact address below, whichever name you saw on your card.
Contact for any matter under these Terms: contato@hopeamazon.com.

03What is being sold
A protection service applied to a quantity of hectares of Amazon rainforest chosen by you, within the areas HopeAmazon holds under contract.
Protection is in force — and what that covers
The PSA agreements with the landowners are signed. The contracted areas carry an anti-deforestation clause in force, and what you acquire is the funding of that protection for the number of hectares you choose.
Your hectares are counted against the contracted areas as a whole. No individually mapped plot with its own coordinates is allocated to you, and we never represent one as being. The list of contracted areas, with deed and CAR numbers, is published on the site.
The total number of hectares we may sell is capped by the native vegetation remnant declared in the CAR of the contracted areas. The cap is enforced in our database, not only by policy.
A full, plain-language description — including what is not built yet — is at What you get, which forms part of these Terms. Where that page and this document disagree, this document prevails.
The subscription is not, and is never presented as: ownership, possession or any right in rem over land; a carbon credit, offset or any tradable environmental asset; a financial investment, security, or any expectation of financial return; a token, crypto-asset or anything that can be traded or resold.
04Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to contract. You need an account to subscribe.
Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity carried out under your account. Tell us immediately at contato@hopeamazon.com if you believe it has been compromised, and we will suspend it while we investigate.
The email address on your account is the address we use for receipts, billing notices and the exercise of your rights. Keep it current.
You may hold one account. We may suspend or close an account used fraudulently, unlawfully, or to abuse the service. If we close an account without cause on your part, we refund the unused portion of the period paid for.
05Price, currency, taxes and billing
The economic terms, in full
Quantity multiplies the price in both plans. You choose the number of hectares — from 1 to 1000 — and the price per hectare is applied to it.
Annual plan — USD 220.00 (or EUR 199.00) per hectare, charged once. A single payment taken at purchase, covering twelve months of protection counted from that date. There is no recurring charge and it does not renew on its own.
Monthly plan — USD 22.00 (or EUR 19.90) per hectare, charged every month from the date of purchase. This is a recurring charge and it runs every month until you cancel — it does not stop after twelve months. Over twelve months it totals USD 264.00 (EUR 238.80) per hectare, more than the annual plan, which is the discounted way to pay. You are shown this in a highlighted notice at checkout, before any payment is taken.
Currency. Your currency is determined by your country of residence: euro for residents of the European Economic Area, US dollars elsewhere. It is resolved on our servers and displayed before you pay. You are always charged the currency and amount shown at checkout.
Tax is included in the displayed price. Nothing is added at checkout: the amount shown is the amount charged.
Strong customer authentication. Where your bank requires 3-D Secure — including on a monthly renewal — you may be asked to authenticate on your bank's page. Until you do, the charge is not completed and the subscription is marked incomplete. We email you a link to complete it.
Failed payment (monthly plan). If a charge fails, we email you and hold your reservation for a 7-day grace period. If payment is still not collected by the end of it, the reservation lapses. It is reinstated if payment later succeeds.
Price changes. We will not change the price of a running monthly plan without at least 30 days' notice by email before the change takes effect, so that you can cancel first. A price already paid under the annual plan is never changed retroactively.
Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers. We do not store card numbers and will never ask for them by email.
06Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer resident in Brazil, you may withdraw from this contract within 7 days of concluding it, without giving any reason, under art. 49 of the Consumer Protection Code (Law 8.078/1990).
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may withdraw within 14 days of concluding it, without giving any reason.
To exercise the right, tell us clearly — an email to contato@hopeamazon.com is enough. You may use the model form below, but you are not obliged to. Sending the notice before the period expires is sufficient; it does not have to reach us within it.
We refund all payments received within 14 days of being informed, using the same means of payment you used, at no cost to you.
Model withdrawal form
To: HopeAmazon Consultoria em Sustentabilidade S.A. — contato@hopeamazon.com I/We hereby give notice that I/We withdraw from my/our contract for the following service: Amazon hectare protection subscription Subscribed on: ____________________ Name of consumer: ____________________ Address of consumer: ____________________ Email used at subscription: ____________________ Signature (only if this form is sent on paper): ____________________ Date: ____________________
07Cancellation and refunds
Cancel at any time, without a fee
Monthly plan. Cancelling from your dashboard stops all future charges, in one click, with no notice period and no cancellation fee. The period you have already paid for runs to its end. Outside the withdrawal window in clause 06, the current month is not refunded, as the period is short.
Annual plan. A single payment covering twelve months. Outside the withdrawal window in clause 06, cancelling stops any further billing, but the twelve months already paid for are not refunded pro rata.
The statutory withdrawal rights in clause 06 apply on top of this clause and are never restricted by it.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of the request being accepted. Where a refund is due and your original method is no longer available, we agree another method with you; we never issue credit or vouchers in place of a refund you are entitled to.
08The protection certificate
When your first payment clears, a named certificate is issued in your account: a record in our database with a unique number, the date, how many hectares you sustain, and the contracted areas they are counted against.
The certificate is evidence of the service you fund. It has no market value, cannot be sold, transferred or assigned, confers no ownership and no environmental credit, and creates no expectation of financial return.
It exists today only in our database and is visible when you sign in. There is no public registry and nothing is written to a blockchain. If we ever publish a public means of verifying certificate integrity, it will change only where the record can be read — never what it is worth, which is nothing on any market.
The certificate reflects the period you have paid for. When a subscription ends, the certificate remains in your account as a record of the period it covered.
09The areas under contract
The contracted areas, their municipalities, their CAR codes and their native vegetation figures are published at The areas. Each area passes deed, CAR, CCIR and embargo checks before any agreement is signed.
The set of areas may change. We may add areas as new PSA agreements are signed, and an area may leave the programme — for example if its agreement ends, or if a documentary problem appears after signature.
If an area leaves, your hectares continue to be counted against the remaining contracted areas, because they were never allocated to a single property. If the remaining areas were ever insufficient to cover the hectares sold, we would stop new sales and tell existing subscribers, who could cancel with a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
We do not own the contracted land, and we do not represent ourselves as owning it. Protection is contractual, resting on the PSA agreement with each landowner.
10Monitoring, readings and reports
Each contracted area is read monthly by Sentinel-1 radar, composited from every pass in the month and clipped to the area's CAR polygon. Radar is used rather than optical imagery because it penetrates cloud, which makes a reading possible during the rainy season. Every reading is recorded with its date, the scenes used, and its own identifier. Readings are not overwritten.
Deforestation alerts from INPE DETER and heat sources from NASA FIRMS are filtered by each area's actual perimeter — not by a bounding box, not by a radius from the centre point.
A monthly report is produced in Portuguese and English, covering the contracted areas collectively, with one individual line for the subscriber. When the report is sent, it is included in your subscription at no extra cost for as long as it is active. We do not commit to a delivery date we cannot honour, and we will not describe the report as delivered before it is.
What monitoring is, and is not. It is a record of what public satellite and alert data show over the contracted perimeters. It is not a guarantee that no deforestation will occur, and it is not a substitute for enforcement by public authorities. Where an alert appears inside a contracted perimeter, we report it — a monitoring service that hid its own bad news would be worthless.
11What we promise, and what we do not
We commit to applying subscription revenue to the protection programme described at What you get, to keeping the monthly reading running over the contracted areas, and to describing the state of that programme honestly, including its gaps.
We do not guarantee a specific environmental outcome. Protecting forest depends on landowners, public authorities, weather and enforcement — factors outside our control.
We do not claim that a subscription makes you, or any activity of yours, carbon-neutral or climate-neutral, and you may not present it that way. No emission is offset by it, and no environmental claim of that kind may be built on it.
The service is provided with reasonable care and skill. The site may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control; we do not warrant uninterrupted availability.
12Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service unlawfully, or to launder money, evade sanctions or finance illegal activity;
- resell, sublicense or present the subscription or the certificate as a tradable asset, an investment or an environmental credit;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data, or to circumvent authentication or rate limits;
- scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract site content or area data by automated means beyond ordinary browsing and the published
llms.txt; - impersonate HopeAmazon or use our name, marks or the certificate to mislead anyone.
Breach of this clause may lead to suspension or termination under clause 17, and we reserve any remedy the law gives us.
13Intellectual property and data sources
The site, its texts, drawings, reports and the software behind them belong to HopeAmazon Consultoria em Sustentabilidade S.A. or its licensors. Subscribing gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service and to keep and show your own certificate; it transfers no intellectual property.
Public data we display keeps its own terms: Copernicus Sentinel data (European Union / ESA), INPE DETER and PRODES, NASA FIRMS, NASA EONET and GIBS, and CAR/SICAR perimeters. Displaying data from an institution does not mean that institution endorses, certifies or is associated with HopeAmazon.
You may quote or link to our published material with attribution. You may not present it as your own, or alter it in a way that changes what it states.
14Personal data
How we handle personal data — what we collect, on which legal basis, how long we keep it, who processes it, international transfers, and how you exercise your rights under Brazil's LGPD and the EU GDPR — is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Where a mandatory consumer or data protection rule of your country of habitual residence gives you more protection than these Terms, that rule prevails, and nothing here is to be read as waiving it.
15Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including the mandatory rights of consumers under Brazilian, EU or UK law.
Subject to that, and where the law allows a limit to be agreed, our aggregate liability arising out of the subscription is limited to the amounts you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses, or for the acts of landowners, public authorities or third-party data providers.
16Events outside our control
We are not in breach of these Terms, and not liable for delay or failure, where it is caused by an event outside our reasonable control — including natural disaster, flood, fire, epidemic, war, civil unrest, industrial action, failure of public telecommunications, cloud infrastructure or payment networks, or an act of a public authority.
If such an event prevents the monthly reading for a sustained period, we say so plainly and, where the interruption is material and prolonged, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
17Suspension, termination and what survives
You may end your subscription at any time under clause 07. We may suspend or terminate a subscription for breach of clause 12, for non-payment after the grace period in clause 05, or where we are required to by law.
Where we terminate without cause on your part, we refund the unused portion of the period you have paid for.
Termination does not affect rights accrued before it. Clauses 08 (certificate as a record of a period), 13, 14, 15 and 19 survive termination.
18Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms — for example to reflect a change in the service, in our suppliers, or in the law. The version in force is always the one published here, with its revision date at the top.
If a change materially affects your rights or the price, we notify active subscribers by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing the subscription after that date means you accept the change; if you do not accept it, cancel before it takes effect and the change will never apply to you.
19Complaints, disputes and applicable law
Write to contato@hopeamazon.com first. Most problems are billing problems and are solved in one message. We aim to acknowledge within 3 working days and to resolve within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, and the courts of Porto Velho, State of Rondônia, have jurisdiction.
This does not deprive you of consumer protection. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of habitual residence and may bring proceedings in your own local courts. If you are a consumer in Brazil, you may sue in the courts of your own domicile under art. 101 of the Consumer Protection Code. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
20Miscellaneous
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with What you get and the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the subscription.
Severability. If a clause is held invalid, the rest stays in force and the invalid clause is read down to the minimum extent necessary.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we do not lose it.
Assignment. You may not assign your subscription. We may assign these Terms as part of a corporate reorganisation, provided your rights are not reduced; we tell you if that happens.
Language. These Terms are published in English and Portuguese. In case of conflict, the Portuguese version prevails, since the contracting party and the governing law are Brazilian.
